S-P-A-M :D

Yeah, this went on for like 10-13 minutes I guess, talking about Heidi's fantasy about One Direction then to Butts and names and how awesome I was everybody was and just spamming each other's notifications with nonsense and likes, and from 7 comments to..

I have the craziest friends ;) B.B.F!

Special thanks to Heidi Chua, Laura Yong, Maxine Goh, and Fish Lee.
and also to Brandon Wong for contributing 1% of the comments.

Day Five: A picture of your favourite memory.

This has got to be it.

Maxine is missing :(

It's not just this particular day, but all of our GDOs. We watched movies, bad ones, good ones, and went (window) shopping and just going semi-crazy.
I love them all. They make my life so much more colourful.
Oh, you guys know who you are ;)
I hope this will not just be a memory but a great part of my life.

p.s: If you can't see me, I'm the one in the striped sleeve with her face covered with who-knows-whose hair.

Day Four: A picture of your favourite night.

Too many nights I've spend laughing and having fun. If I were to pick my favourite night, I'll choose this:

It was December 2010, a night of caroling in Rasa Ria Resort in Karambunai. It was a great night because not only did we get to sing carols in front of international guests, we also devoured ourselves in a 5 star dinner, for free!
The picture above is the almost group photo of the "bleh" team. It was one of the rare times when most of us are here for Christmas. Since most of them are already working or studying abroad and chances of coming back to KK for the holidays were really slim.
It was indeed my favourite night, so far.

Day Three: A picture of the cast from your favorite show.

This was a tough choice between Castle and Glee, but in the end, McKinley High has got to be my favourite.

This show just makes my week every time I watch it. The characters are so well-played and the story line is just very exciting to follow. And the songs! Makes me smile everyday :)

Can't wait for Season Three to air in Malaysia!

Life, and weird dreams that you happen to remember.

Been looking forward to this holidays for weeks, but when it started, I have been feeding myself with boredom and fried foods.
I should be doing charity work like visiting Bukit Harapan or exercising, either of them is what I'm doing right now.
I feel like a failure. *sighs*

Anyways, just something I had to get out. I had one of the sweetest yet weirdest dreams ever.
It was about North Pole, long lost warrior, hyenas, fighting demons, love triangle, Arthur Christmas, Vampires and Italy.
Yeah, I was on a expedition team that were travelling to the North Pole, and we were staying at a lodge or camp base. There were around 15 of us.
Most of them looked like people from "Vampire Sucks", maybe cause I watched it last night, and Arthur Christmas, and this guy from Sukma.
First, I was told that I was a long lost warrior and we were using bamboo sticks to fight off flying tiki looking demons and then we were on our way to the North Pole, and I had this fling with the Sukma guy and then this werewolf from "Vampire Sucks" came and told me that I had to choose between him and the Sukma guy.
Next thing I knew, we were on a van to Italy where they're going to drop me off at some hotel because it was dangerous for me to go to the North Pole. I blame the warrior thing.
Then I took a photo with the Sukma guy and we smiled sadly at each other...

Weird thing about this dream was that it was me in full figure form, not me in a supermodel form like always, and I remember almost all the details and it played in my mind like a good movie. And I know who the Sukma guy is..

Day Two: A picture of you and the person you have been closest with the longest.

Yeah, that was the best photo I can find with her.

Out of all the amazing friends that I am lucky enough to have. The longest I've been with was with her.

Meet Abigail.

She's been my friend since we were 7 years old, and the fact that we were born 17 days apart only made us closer.
We've gone through so many ups and downs together. It felt like yesterday when we were debating whether Rihanna or My Chemical Romance has the coolest songs. I was on the MCR team, and we were always there on the other side of the line when either one of us called. That seemed like a long time ago since we called each other.

Ahh, the sleepovers and the pointless fights and endless tears, 8 years of sillyness and sisterly love.

I am going to miss her when she moves to Australia. Nah, I'm going to hide in her luggage.

Day One: A picture of you with 10 facts.

They didn't say it had to be a recent photo.
It was me when I was 8. Ah, the pig tails.

Fact No. 1: I am a fencer.
No, not make fences. Fencing as in the sport. Zorro and Pirates of the Carribean anyone?
Been at the sport since I was 11, and I fell in love with it. My weapon is the Epee.

Fact No.2: I love reading mysteries.
Ever since I first started reading Agatha Christie's Murder on the Orient Express, I caught on to the idea of deduction and ever since I've been looking for the next mystery to appear on my book shelf.

Fact No.3: I drink coffee like it's water.
Just place a jug of Kopi 'O' in front of me and I'll be happily gulping it down, one mug at a time. I guess I got it from my family in Menggatal. They always have coffee wherever they go. They sometimes bring their own brew on them.

Fact No.4: When I grow up, I wish to be a famous journalist.
I want to interview everybody. From athletes to survivors, I just want to know what they've been through and how they get back up. It's life changing.

Fact No.5: I am allergic to chocolates or anything that contains cocoa.
Yes, this sad fact was proven just recently when I ate a piece of chocolate and instantly had rashes all over my body and I fell sick and nauseous. So don't try to feed me chocolates. I might just break down and cry.

Fact No.6: In my pastlife, I was Queen Victoria.
Yes, people might say I'm crazy, but every gut in my body tells me I'm somehow related to the Queen Mother of England.

Fact No.7: I like to make people laugh.
I don't care whether is laughing at me or with me, I just like to hear laughter. I say/do the stupidest things to entertain people. Although sometimes, I end up laughing alone.

Fact No.8: I'm fun-sized.
Other people call it short, but I prefer the above adjective. Heidi calls me 'bella petite', and I like that too.

Fact No.9: Christmas is my favourite time of the year.
Partly because I'll be receiving presents from a lot of people. Also because I get to go caroling with my favourite bunch of people! The "bleh" team. I miss them all..

Fact No. 10: My favourite scent is Lavender.
I just love the aromatic feel it emits.

This is Day 1.

30 Day Blog Challenge?

Yeah, so everybody's been doing their own version of the 30 Day Blog Challenge, and I wanted to do mine too. But the titles for some days, I can't really find the answers or in this case photos, but since I've been a couch potato for over 2 weeks now, I better do something worthwhile.

So I have decided to do it.

Yeah. This is going to be interesting...

Check out other 30 Day Challengers!

Go Tigers!

I've been wanting to post about Malaysian football for a while now, but hadn't had the time to do it. Now, I guess, it's perfect.

Congrats Harimau Muda  for winning back-to-back Gold in the 2011 SEA Games!
Last time we won 1-0 own goal from Thailand, but this year, against home team, Indonesia with 93mins game time + 30mins extra time, ending with a 1-1 draw, then going on to win the penalty shoot out 4-3, we defended our Gold with pride and honour.

Teamwork, it's what I will say that got their mojo back together. First few minutes were a bit frazzled. Probably because they were playing against the home team, and like any other home team, the crowd is always crazy. Sometimes it affects a team's performance.

But throughout the match, both teams played extremely well. The Indonesians were playing on home soil and we were fighting to defend our title. Each and every player had lived up every second of the game, hoping to win big for their country. In the end, at the penalty shoot out, with Fahmi's save and Captain, Baddrol's "almost not" goal, my country, Malaysia managed to defend the title.

When we won, "Congrats Malaysia" was trending worldwide on twitter! So was Nazmi Faiz! The 17-yearold that skipped SPM for this historical moment. Now that's commitment. They should exempt him from the exams. Haha.
Didn't make it in time to crop the photo with Nazmi Faiz on it.

What's next for them? Olympics qualifying match against Syria in KL. I would love to go but I'm afraid I'm stuck here in KK for the hols.

2010 Euro Cadet Championship Men Epee (Team and Indi) Gold Medalist

Now he is somebody that I look up to.To be 16 when he won his Youth Olympic Gold, that's an achievement.
He is certainly a fencer that I will be looking out for when he makes it to the real Olympics.

Couch Potato

So it's the year end holidays now. Yipee....
Been on a school-free vacation for a week now, and boy was I up to nothing.
Other than the Greyson Chance showcase, my past week of "holiday" wasn't, how you say, productive or fun. At all.
I literally spent a whole day in front of the TV, watching endless romantic comedy movies, crime series and pointless commercials. I'm starting to wonder when my butt is going to expand then inflate due to the long term contact with my couch.

Also, I have been dumping toxic waste ie. fast foods into my tummy the whole week, so much for eating fibre cookies for the holidays. Training stopped momentarily because coach went to the SEA Games in Indonesia, so I think I'm way over the 50 mark now.

Surprisingly, I don't care! I've never been so neglecting about my weight and my body. I guess it's from caring too much that I just got tired of this maintenance. Taking a break from all this shiz. I don't have anybody to impress, but me. So far, I've been happy with how I look, even now. My mind just wants to relax for a couple more days before I go back to training. Hopefully, I can go for the Hong Kong competition next year! *crossing my fingers!*

Alright, I better stop now before I tire my brain from the overload work.

Hope your holidays are better than mine.
(I should do something with it)

Greyson Chance Live in KK!

If you guys read about the experience I went through pre-showcase, then you might think that the whole experience was a terrible one. Let me tell you, it wasn't the best times but it was certainly one to remember, in a good way.

While waiting for the concert, not only did I get to see how brutal people can be for the front view of the showcase, but I also saw how many people were excited to see Greyson, in person! We have some crazy fans over here. I also met a lot of new people. Nice people. Like Nicole, the tall girl, who helped us fan everybody around cause she was very tall, and this girl who complimented on my nails, she backed me up when I was asking people, very politely, to not push. That was before I lost my cool. Regretted not knowing her name. She seemed pretty cool. Then other girls too who had to put up with my random act of awkwardness while waiting for the gates to open. It was a pretty fun experience that time.

Then also when I was looking for Tierny, the people who were complete strangers to me offered to help to look for "this little girl in pink". They are just amazing.

What's more fun was when we couldn't really see the stage, with all the tall people in front of us, we looked at the cameras that could zoom x500 or something like that and we could see Greyson so clear and near on their screen. They were happy to let us see through and made the showcase much more interesting.

Oh, Greyson Chance was just amazing. He performed all six songs without any band. It was just him and his keyboard. How amazeballs was that? Was trying to sing a long to his songs, but sadly, I only know a few. I tried though. I really did. I was on the verge of tears when he said that we were the "best fans in the world" and when he sang "Waiting Outside the Lines". Just like that, an hour passed. The whole 8 hours wait was totally worth it. WORTH IT.

After the concert was the signing of the album. I could not believe he actually signed every copy with his adorable smile on his face! He is a true sweetheart that boy, and he is only 14! Words can't describe how happy I was to see that my sister and my cousin enjoyed their night, despite all the downs we went through. I guess that's what Greyson Chance can do to you. He can make you feel so happy and comfortable in his presence. I am intoxicated with his aromatic being.

Greyson Chance, thank you so much for coming to KK for your Asian Tour. I really hope that you will come back again! and do a REAL concert!!

KK LOVES YOU GREYSON!!

This was the amount of people who came for the showcase, and it was 2 hours before the show!

Before Greyson's showcase (as experienced by the normal ticket holder) Pt.2

Yeah, this is the second part, one long post wouldn't do. (Part one would be below)

So, we sat there, trying very hard to listen to what they are trying to say because there wasn't any speakers or amplifiers near us. Then Anthonia came to us, with her meet and greet pass pinned on her and told Heidi to get hers, and they went. Of course, with meet and greet passes, you get to avoid the crowd and enter through the VIP lane, and stand in front of the stage. Awesome shiz. So the rest of us, Tierney (Heidi's sister), Brit (my cousin), my sis and I waited for our turn to enter. It was around 5:45 and the sky was starting to get dark. Sun sets around 6-6:30pm here in KK.

Then, when they finally opened the gates at around 6pm, what happened few hours before happened again. Everyone was shoving and pushing and suffocating one another, trying to grab the frontal view of the stage. The four of us held on to each other so tightly and prayed that we don't get separated. My phone ran out of battery so I was wishing so hard nobody got lost. As we made our way to the front, Tierney and I were smashed onto the barricade and my sis and Brit got lost in the crowd. People were pushing to get in and the guy from the organizer screamed "IF YOU GUYS DON'T STOP PUSHING! YOU WILL ALL WATCH THE CONCERT FROM HERE!" Major threat to everyone, and the pushing decreased. It didn't stop but it wasn't as bad as before.

Tierney got in first and I got in after that. I brought her to the front and waited for my sis and Brit to enter. After a few minutes, they managed to get in. When for a moment there I thought everything would be alright from then on, I was wrong. As people start filling in, so the pushing started, again. But I'm not blaming on the crowd, I'm blaming it on a couple of guys who thought it was funny to push and deny. Like seriously guys? You thought we were dumb enough to fall for your "It's not me!" excuse? Look behind you? Anyone pushing? NO. It's you. Yeah, they made Brit cry and they should donate their balls to the poor for that. They might've just ruined her day. So we moved to the back, leaving Tierny with Ryan, thinking she would be okay. Brit was crying non-stop and I tried reasoning with her so she won't leave the concert. Gabby and Sam moved to the back too, they can't stand the boys either. Brit decided to stay at the back which was jerk-free. The back was spacious unlike the front, so we sat down and waited. They played various music videos and people just sang-a-long to it. Then I saw Ryan. Alone. Which meant that Tierny was in front. Alone. Was debating whether to announce it to the crew or go in to look for her. It was 6:45pm. There's still time. Brit was still complaining and wanting to leave but I told her that everybody else is suffering too. I offered her a piggyback ride and she reluctantly agreed to stay. That's one problem solved.

Heidi came at around 7pm to our place and asked me to look for Tierney cause she had to go to the meet and greet corner. Instead of having to look inside the crowd, I went for the next best thing-the announcement-. I played "the panicked sister/cousin looking for ____" role and the crew were so helpful. While waiting for the announcement, I took up the courage and continued the role-play and went into the dense crowd up front. I asked people to help me scream out Tierney's name and oh KK people are so nice when they are not pushing. Then, like the sky opening up to the heavens, "Tierney Chua" was announced on the amps, and the crowd made way for her to come to me. Once again, everybody was together. Huge relief.

It was already 7:30pm and T-minus 1 hour! The back stared filling in too and soon the place was packed! The people were so tall that even tip-toeing didn't help. I couldn't even see the projector screen! Tierny got hungry waiting and decided to go out and eat with her mom. So she left. Just like that. She handed me her copy of Hold On Til' The Night to me to get it signed, in case she couldn't come back.

And so we waited. Rica came on stage and hit it off by throwing posters, none of them got thrown into my radius of reach. Sadly. We had to constantly move places to get a better view of the stage and fortunately, nobody was pushing anymore. That was uplifting.

Then at 8:30pm or so, Greyson came on stage and suddenly,
everything we went through that afternoon was worth it.... An hour of total bliss.

Before Greyson's showcase (as experienced by the normal ticket holder) Pt.1

Greyson Chance just performed here in KK last night, and it wasn't pretty.

Here's roughly how it went :

Went to One Borneo (the venue of the showcase) at 12pm, around 8 more hours before the show. My aunts all thought we were crazy to go so early, but we had to, in order to avoid the massive crowd. Which we failed to later on. So, my little cousin, my sis and I walked around the mall, took videos of our so-called "journey" just to kill time. Heck, I even went to ToysRUs to get some Play-Doh to play with. Bought Greyson's debut album for Heids and ate lunch. At around 2pm we head on to Gourmet Lane only to find there were already a group of people waiting for the gates to open.

So we sat around, talked and listened to the radio, Hitz.fm, with Anthonia's phone, cause Greyson was on air. Funny how he disliked the durians and bambangan so much. Just as Heidi walked down the lane towards us, we heard the names of the winners of the MeetNGreet on air. All we heard were Anthonia and Heidi's name mentioned by Greyson and everyone just went into hysterics. Then, reality struck and both of them were anxiously waiting for their phones to ring to get their passes.

By 4:30pm (4 hours left!), everybody was excited to get in. Especially when the security guards came towards the gates did everybody started getting their tickets ready in hand and standing as near as possible to the barricades to get in ahead of the crowd. This was when things started getting ugly. With the desire to get front row view (it was a standing showcase), everybody wanted to get in first in order to have front row view of Greyson. There were almost 200 people there at the time and there were a lot of pushing and screaming. The people at the back lost all common sense and started to push from behind, leaving the ones in the middle to suffocate as the people in front tried to push back. Deranged girls started swearing and screaming "Don't push! DON'T F*****G PUSH!!" I even heard someone saying "If this was America, I would sue!" Hmm, doesn't that sound familiar? Thinking to myself, we have 4 hours left and things are already this chaotic, damn, it's going to get uglier.

It just did, when they found out that the normal ticket entrance was on the left side, some people from the middle just thought that they could squeeze into the crowd and move to the left. Isn't that just stupid? Come on, 200 people standing closely like tight packed sardines and you think you can wiggle through the dense crowd? You humour me. Slightly. In the end, the crowd went out of control and I shouted "Don't push! DON'T PUSH!" and the dude in front of me, who happened to step on my feet, thought that I was directing my shouts to him, screamed at my face! I was in shock, and I told him I wasn't screaming at him, and there went my respect for him. Inconsiderate fool, and he didn't even apologise for damaging my lovely toes.

Fortunately, after an HOUR of just standing there, being tossed around by outward forces and sweating ourselves, the people from Hitz.fmKK came to settle things down. They did, thank God. They made us sit and wait till the gates are open. They were obviously surprised so many people came this early. It was only 5:30pm. 3 more hours!

To be continued, (part 2)

Yeah, my life is that pathetic at the moment.

Adults

I have to laugh at myself for wanting to being an adult so badly, after what I experienced the other night, I'd rather stay in my teenage form for the rest of my life.

It really shocks me how immature adults can be at times. I'm not talking about the "fun" immaturity, but by the way they handle tough situations. I mean, adults have the habit of claiming themselves as "experienced" and "matured" especially if they are parents, but in the eyes of their child, a 16 year old could handle the situation even better than they did.

It was only a simple miscommunication among each other, and it had to lead into a big fight, bringing along everybody who were present into their immature drama. It's just really unnecessary to do that.
As a teenager, I expected them to know better, since they think they are far more experienced and matured about everything in life. So I thought one of them would admit they were wrong and bury the hatchet, but no, instead, one is waiting for the other to apologise so they wouldn't have to look so bad in front of the unwilling audience. Everybody wants to win these days, no matter how wrong they are.

They've taught us to say "sorry" and admit our mistakes whenever we are in the wrong. Maybe it's time for them to listen to their own advice?

Makes me wonder, does age really come with experience? Or does age even matter when it comes to maturity?

Please, adults, grow up.

Thinking Back

So I had this short term emotional breakdown the other day, and suddenly, it dawned on me the importance of life and all the other melodramatic whatnots. Then I thought about my blog, on how it has evolved over these years and what thoughts have I chosen to insert into this online diary of mine and how it all came to be..

It was the mid 2008 when I was preparing for my first ever public exams- UPSR and that was also the time when my hormones took over my conscience. I started getting over-emotional over small stuffs and became isolated among my friends. So, that was how my URL 'lonelyamongfriends' came to be. I would never dream of changing it because this line reminds me of the situation I was and how that managed to strengthen me in a way that I won't ever feel as lonely as before. The reason I started this blog was to allow myself to express all my deepest thought onto a piece of virtual paper as a diary alternative when my pen ran out of ink or when my journal runs out of paper. (I guessed I lost track of that)

Then, as I enter highschool early 2009, I finally met other bloggers (I wasn't that public with mine in primary school) like Heidi and Laura and it somehow changed the way I blog, (you can explore my old archives if you want to know what I mean) and I believed the hype. The contents of my blog varied from life experiences to just random updates about nothing in particular. It then became an addiction. I was constantly checking stats and my chatbox (I've already removed it) to see who's reading my blog.
Ohmygosh.

Fast forward to 2011, so far I have posted about so many random thoughts and life in general. But lately, it has always been about what I have been up to and not much about putting any thought into it. So I might go back to blogging about my sad/happy life and probably bore you to death. Oh well, nobody likes reading about other people's sufferings anyways.

Was just reading the posts written by the 12 year old me and boy! do pardon my English then. I was still using the Sabahan Rojak and man, it was BAD. LOL-ing at myself right now. "Crazysteve" I mean like WTH?

I'm not kidding about Christmas coming early

Life, so recently

As everybody on the world knows, it was 11.11.11 yesterday.
To some, it's a day to make epic wishes and celebrate this historical day.
To others, it was just a normal day.

To fellow schoolmates, it was also the last day of school before the holidays start taking over, but to a few, it was a reminder that their biggest challenge is on the way--SPM. Really, we have to give them the props, it's hard to have exams when the rest of the world is celebrating the end of the year.

So yeah, had a lot of things going on for the last week of school. Football matches, training, reunion, GDOs, chasing Purple Myvi and Gala Dinner. Lost a lot of sleep thanks to them, gonna take back my beauty sleep when my hibernation starts! Don't know when.

Here are some photos!

 Junior 2 Ping 2010 Reunion

Sorry for the blurry photo, used my old camera.

Chased down the Hitz Cruisers for the Greyson Chance's showcase.
It was indeed an adventure

famous Hakka singer, know the song " 不要去英国" ?

Saw him LIVE.
Gary Cao Ge, , he is a Sabah-born international Superstar.
He is from my hometown, Kota Belud too!

Yeah that was pretty much the events that happened recently. Wanted to do an individual post for each, but that would have to wait. I hope this would keep you entertained for the moment. I hope.
Well then, I'm off to have dinner with my family.
ALL THE BEST to all who are sitting for their SPM this year. You guys can do it! :)

Just a little from me

I don't want to be mean to somebody who doesn't deserve this kind of treatment.
I've made a promise to God during my first communion that I'll love my neighbours as I love Him, so that's what I'm trying so hard to do.
So far, I've managed to narrow down my hatred, but it's still there. Hate is an ugly emotion.
Try not to practise it.

My emotions were in turmoil these few days. I have a feeling it might just be the hormones. That's why when I face situations like this, I ask myself "If I were a matured young adult, what would I do?" and I'll imagine myself in the shoes of my grown-up cousins and see what they would do. Sometimes, being a bitch isn't worth it.

I would want to confront some people, please don't get offended and take this the wrong way. I really want to let you know, it's just been a long while and I've been a coward, and an awful friend. I won't be surprise if I end up on your blacklist. I deserve that.

Major things will be happening this month, it's all about repentance (from me) and alms giving (for everyone).

May God bless you abundantly and may you see the light in this world.
The glass was always full to begin with anyways :)

2012 Project

I just wanted to do something a little extra.
Starting a whole new blog that isn't talking about my life but about others, in a good way. People who inspire me.

It's still under construction, still rethinking everything, a few knicks here and there, but I am excited!!

It's called "Real Life Glitters". It's not that cheesy... I really like that name. Hey, got a problem, tell it to your shrink! Okay, that was a bit mean, but seriously, it's the only name that I like out of "fairy dusts" "sparkling glitters" "inspirations of the world" and a list long more of really bad names. My mind isn't working right nowadays.

Anyways, really can't wait! Looking for inspirations!

Early Christmas

I know it's only November (Happy November by the way!) but it feels like Christmas is in the air already! Especially with this blasting on the speakers:
Michael Buble's Christmas Album

Yeap, exams being all over just placed the holly outside my door! Oh, I can't wait what's coming up for Christmas! Caroling, Bukit Harapan, parties, shopping! Excited!!

Best Friends?

Being best friends with you is the best I can hope for.
When I heard what you told me the other night, about that girl, honestly, I'm not going to be that jealous type that doesn't let other girls have feelings for her man, besides, you're not my man to begin with anyways.

I'll be lying if I said I won't cry. How can I not cry? What happened between us was too much to just be thrown away, for me. Just to keep things clear, it's okay with me if you well, have feelings for her. I mean, we're just "best friends" right? It's okay if we're in the friend zone, better than being strangers, again. *wongfumoment*

This was the moment I was afraid that would happen, me letting go of you, once and for all. I know once the feelings start to fade away, they will never come back. I don't want that to happen. I do hope you know this.

p/s: I never stopped liking you. oh, and nice eyes :)
